  • Heavy-duty reusable fastening: Moulded ULTRA-MATE® Hook technology provides 50% more holding power than standard-strength VELCRO® Brand fasteners for demanding mounting and organisation projects.
  • Matching Hook and Loop set: Every option contains equal lengths of Heavy Duty Hook and compatible Loop tape, providing both components required to create a complete reusable fastening.
  • Slim 20mm tape width: The narrower format suits restricted spaces, slim equipment edges, frames, signs and smaller mounting areas where broader 50mm Heavy Duty tape would be unsuitable.
  • Five available set lengths: Choose 1m, 2m, 5m, 10m or 25m sets for individual mounting tasks, workshop organisation, repeated installations or full-roll requirements.
  • Water-resistant self-adhesive backing: Designed for compatible smooth indoor and outdoor surfaces, providing peel-and-stick installation without drilling, screws or permanent mechanical fasteners.

VELCRO® Brand Heavy Duty ULTRA-MATE® Black Stick-On Tape – 20mm Wide

This genuine VELCRO® Brand Heavy Duty fastening combines moulded ULTRA-MATE® Hook with compatible Loop tape and a strong self-adhesive backing. It provides a compact reusable fastening for projects that need greater holding performance but do not have enough mounting space for 50mm-wide tape.

The 20mm width is suitable for slim equipment edges, narrow frames, signs, access covers, storage systems and workshop organisation. Moulded bidirectional hooks provide 50% more holding power than standard-strength VELCRO® Brand fasteners.

Matching Hook and Loop sets

Every variation contains equal lengths of both mating components. This product is supplied only as a complete Hook and Loop set and is not available as Hook only or Loop only.

  • 1m set: 1m Hook plus 1m Loop
  • 2m set: 2m Hook plus 2m Loop
  • 5m set: 5m Hook plus 5m Loop
  • 10m set: 10m Hook plus 10m Loop
  • 25m set: 25m Hook plus 25m Loop

Typical applications include:

  • Narrow signs, frames and display components
  • Workshop tools and equipment organisation
  • Slim access panels and inspection covers
  • Storage systems, cases and equipment housings
  • Garage, shed and work-van organisation
  • Indoor and outdoor DIY mounting projects

Surface preparation and installation

Apply only to clean, dry, smooth and stable surfaces. Remove dust, grease, polish, moisture and loose material before fitting. Weak paint, wallpaper and unstable surface coatings may detach under load even when the adhesive remains bonded.

Cut the required length and round the corners where practical. Remove the protective liner without touching the exposed adhesive, position the tape carefully and press firmly across the complete bonded area.

Allow approximately 24 hours for the adhesive bond to develop before repeatedly opening the fastening or applying substantial load. Holding performance depends on the exact surface, available contact area, installation quality and direction of force.

Do not apply to PVC, flexible vinyl, fabric, dashboards, dirty surfaces or weak coatings. Do not use underwater, for personal restraint, overhead safety support or where fastening failure could cause injury or serious property damage.

Suitable vinyl, glass, metal, sealed wood, painted wallboard, polyester, cardboard and acrylic surfaces. Polyethylene, polypropylene, submerged applications and plastics with unusually high plasticiser concentrations. High-tack water-based acrylic adhesive developed for compatible PVC, vinyl and plasticised surfaces.
Heavy Duty ULTRA-MATE® Tape
THIS PRODUCT Equipment, tools, slim panels, frames, signs and demanding indoor or outdoor mounting where a narrow Heavy Duty tape is required. Compatible clean metal, glass, sealed wood, acrylic, tiles, painted wallboard and selected rigid plastics. PVC, flexible vinyl, fabric, dashboards, submerged applications and weak or unstable painted surfaces. Moulded ULTRA-MATE® Hook and Heavy Duty adhesive provide greater holding performance in a compact 20mm width.

Why choose 20mm Heavy Duty ULTRA-MATE®? Select this product when stronger fastening is required but the installation does not have enough space for 50mm-wide tape. Choose PS14 for lightweight indoor fastening or PS18 when attaching to compatible PVC or vinyl.

Important: Adhesive performance depends on the exact substrate, preparation, contact area, temperature and load direction. Test a concealed area before completing a large, valuable or safety-critical installation.
