Hose Clamp Banding, Lock Heads & Clamp Kits
Shop hose clamp banding, lock heads, housings, buckles and cut-to-length clamp kits for large, unusual or custom-diameter applications. Suitable systems are available for hoses, ducting, pipework, sign fixing, posts, insulation and general industrial strapping.
Choose from Jubilee® Multiband and Flexiband, JCS® Multi-Torque and Boltza® quick-release banding in zinc-plated steel, W3 stainless, 304 stainless and selected 316 stainless steel. Always match the band width, connector and material to the same clamping system.
Cut-to-Length Hose Clamp Banding
Hose clamp banding allows custom-diameter clamps and fastening straps to be produced from a continuous roll. It is particularly useful when a standard manufactured hose clip is unavailable, when several different diameters must be covered or when very large pipework, ducting or equipment needs to be secured.
Depending on the system, a length of band is cut from the roll and fitted into a worm-drive housing, quick-release lock head or separate buckle. The completed assembly can then be tightened around the application.
Not every banding system is intended to seal a pressurised hose. Some products are designed primarily for sign fixing, cable retention, insulation, ducting or general strapping. Check the selected system’s intended use before installation.
Choose the Correct Banding System
Jubilee® Multiband
Jubilee® Multiband is a cut-to-length worm-drive clamping system. It combines continuously threaded banding with matching housings and screws to create adjustable clips for non-standard diameters.
The Jubilee range includes slim 7mm stainless steel Multiband and 11mm banding in zinc-plated mild steel, 304 stainless steel and selected 316 stainless steel. Pocket packs, handy packs, separate rolls and replacement housings are available.
The 7mm and 11mm components are different systems. A 7mm housing must not be fitted to 11mm banding or vice versa.
Jubilee® Flexiband
Jubilee® Flexiband is a 304 stainless steel band-and-buckle system primarily intended for strong, tamper-resistant strapping. It is commonly used for sign fixing, posts and other installations where a permanent banded fastening is required.
Flexiband is available in several widths, including 9mm, 13mm, 16mm and 19mm, with corresponding buckles. Installation normally requires the appropriate Flexiband tensioning tool.
Flexiband should not be confused with worm-drive Multiband. Its buckles, installation method and intended applications are different.
JCS® Multi-Torque
JCS® Multi-Torque is a heavy-duty 16mm worm-drive banding system designed for large-diameter hoses, pipes and ducts. The continuous band is cut to length and fitted into a compatible Multi-Torque connector.
JCS offers this system in 304 and 316 stainless steel. The manufacturer specifies a 15Nm working torque for its Multi-Torque system, but that figure must not be applied to Jubilee or Boltza banding.
Boltza® Quick-Release Banding
Boltza® quick-release banding is available in 9mm and 12mm widths. The range includes 30m banding rolls and corresponding lock-head connectors.
Available constructions include W3 430 stainless steel banding, W4 304 stainless steel banding, zinc-plated W2 lock heads and W4 stainless steel lock heads. Select the correct width and component material for the installation environment.
Banding, Connectors and Buckles Must Match
Components from different systems should not be treated as universally interchangeable. Before ordering, confirm:
- The band and connector are from compatible systems
- The band widths are identical
- The thread or locking profile matches the housing
- The material combination suits the environment
- The completed clamp is approved for the intended application
For example, a 12mm Boltza lock head is not suitable for 9mm banding, and a Jubilee Flexiband buckle is not a substitute for a Multiband worm-drive housing.
Selecting the Appropriate Material
Zinc-Plated Mild Steel
Zinc-plated mild steel provides an economical option for general workshop, indoor and protected industrial installations. The zinc coating improves corrosion resistance, but it is not intended for prolonged saltwater or highly corrosive exposure.
W3 Stainless Steel
The Boltza W3 banding range uses 430-series stainless steel. This provides useful general corrosion resistance but does not offer the same chloride resistance as 304 or 316 stainless steel.
304 Stainless Steel
304 stainless steel is widely used for outdoor, industrial and moisture-exposed installations. It offers improved corrosion resistance over zinc-plated steel and W3 material but should not automatically be described as 316 marine-grade stainless steel.
316 Stainless Steel
Selected Jubilee and JCS systems are available in 316 stainless steel for increased resistance to salt, chlorides and demanding marine or industrial environments. Confirm that the band and housing are both manufactured from the required grade.
How to Measure and Cut Hose Clamp Banding
Measure the circumference of the completed hose, pipe, duct or post at the intended fastening position. Additional band length will be required for engagement with the housing, connector or buckle.
- Confirm the required banding system and width.
- Measure around the complete installed component.
- Add the engagement length specified for the selected connector.
- Cut the band cleanly using an appropriate tool.
- Remove or control sharp cut edges before handling and installation.
- Assemble and tighten according to the system manufacturer’s instructions.
Do not cut the band to the measured circumference alone. A section must remain available for secure engagement with the housing or buckle.
Typical Applications
- Large-diameter hoses and reinforced pipework
- Ventilation and extraction ducting
- Industrial repairs and maintenance
- Sign, bracket and street-furniture fixing
- Insulation and protective covering retention
- Cable and conduit support
- Posts, poles and irregularly shaped fittings
- Custom clamps where standard sizes are unavailable
Frequently Asked Questions
Can any lock head be used with any banding?
No. The connector must match the banding system, width, profile and material. Similar-looking parts from different brands may not engage or tighten correctly.
Can banding be used to make a pressure hose clamp?
Only when the selected system is designed and rated for that purpose. Jubilee Multiband and JCS Multi-Torque are worm-drive clamping systems, while products such as Flexiband are primarily strapping systems.
What is the difference between Multiband and Flexiband?
Multiband uses threaded banding with a screw housing to create an adjustable worm-drive clamp. Flexiband uses plain stainless banding with separate buckles and a tensioning tool for strapping applications.
Is a special tool required?
That depends on the system. Worm-drive banding can normally be tightened with its specified screw tool, while Flexiband requires a suitable tensioning and cutting tool. Proper band cutters also provide a cleaner and safer cut.
Can leftover banding be reused?
Unused banding can be used for another correctly assembled clamp if it remains undamaged and is long enough for the required circumference and connector engagement.
