Rubber Lined P-Clips for Secure Pipe and Cable Mounting

Rubber lined P-clips are used to fasten pipes, hoses, conduit, wiring looms and electrical cables to panels, frames and other fixed surfaces. Their compact P-shaped construction wraps around the line, while the mounting holes allow the clip to be secured using a suitable screw or bolt.

The cushioned lining separates the metal band from the supported component. This helps reduce chafing, vibration noise and movement while providing a neat, firm installation.

P-clips are commonly used in automotive, marine, electrical, workshop, machinery and general maintenance applications. They can be used for routing brake pipes, low-pressure fuel lines, coolant hoses, cable looms, flexible conduit and other compatible pipework.

Choose from Mild Steel and Stainless Steel P-Clips

    Zinc-Plated Mild Steel

Zinc-plated mild steel P-clips provide a strong and economical option for general-purpose installations. The zinc coating gives the steel additional protection against corrosion, making these clips suitable for many indoor, automotive and protected outdoor applications.

For continuously wet, coastal or chemically demanding environments, consider a stainless steel option instead.

    304 Stainless Steel

304 stainless steel P-clips offer improved corrosion resistance for outdoor, damp and industrial environments. They are suitable where greater resistance to moisture is required, but should not automatically be treated as marine-grade 316 stainless steel.

The range also includes a selected Boltza® vinyl-coated stainless steel P-clip. Check each product page carefully because the liner, fixing dimensions and construction are not identical across every product in this category.

    Jubilee®, Boltza® and On1shelf® P-Clips

    • Jubilee® P-clips – genuine one-piece Jubilee clips with an EPDM rubber liner. Jubilee states that its P-clips conform to DIN 3016 and use an M6 fastening arrangement.
    • On1shelf® P-clips – 304 stainless steel rubber-lined clips available in multiple diameters and pack quantities.
    • Boltza® P-clips – including a vinyl-coated 304 stainless steel option for mounting cables, hoses and pipework.

    Individual P-Clips and Assortment Kits

Individual size ranges are suitable when the required pipe or cable diameter is already known. P-clip assortment kits provide a selection of commonly used diameters for workshops, maintenance departments, vehicle repairs and installation work involving several different line sizes.

Mild steel and A2 304 stainless steel assortment kits are available. Check the kit contents before ordering because the included sizes and quantities vary between products.

How to Select the Correct P-Clip Size

P-clips have a defined nominal diameter and offer far less adjustment than worm-drive hose clamps. Accurate measurement is therefore important.

    1. Measure the outside diameter of the pipe, hose, conduit or cable.
    2. Select the corresponding nominal P-clip diameter.
    3. Confirm the mounting-hole size and required fixing method.
    4. Check that the band and liner materials suit the installation environment.
    5. Make sure the clip supports the line without crushing or restricting it.

Do not deliberately select an undersized clip to create additional clamping pressure. This can compress a soft hose, damage cable insulation or prevent the mounting holes from aligning correctly.

P-Clips and Hose Clamps Perform Different Jobs

A rubber lined P-clip mounts and supports a hose, pipe or cable against a surface. It does not normally create a pressure-tight seal between a hose and its connector.

For sealing a hose connection, select a suitable hose clip or hose clamp designed for that purpose. A system may use hose clamps at its connections and P-clips at intervals along the line to provide support and routing.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What are rubber lined P-clips used for?

They are used to mount and support pipes, hoses, cable looms and conduit. The liner helps protect the supported surface and reduces movement, vibration and noise.

    How do I measure for a P-clip?

Measure the outside diameter of the item being supported. Choose a clip with the corresponding nominal internal diameter rather than using the hose bore or cable conductor size.

Are all P-clips in this category EPDM lined?

No. The main rubber-lined ranges use an EPDM cushion, but the category also includes a vinyl-coated product. Check the individual listing when liner material or chemical compatibility is important.

Are these P-clips suitable for fuel lines?

They can be used to support compatible fuel pipes and hoses, but they do not seal the fuel connection. Confirm the liner material, clip size and installation requirements, particularly where the clip could be exposed directly to fuel or oil.

Are mounting screws or bolts included?

Fixings are not automatically included with every product. Check the selected product page for pack contents and mounting-hole details before ordering.
