Hose Clamp Tools, Clip Drivers & Pincers

Fit, tighten and close compatible hose clamps with dedicated clip drivers, ear-clamp pincers and stainless steel banding tools. The range includes Jubilee® 7mm Flexidrivers, rigid clip drivers, O-clip and CV-boot pincers, plus the Jubilee® Flexiband installation tool.

Select the tool according to the clamp system and fastening type—not simply the hose diameter. Check the screw-head size, clip design and band width before ordering.

Hose Clamp Tools for Accurate Installation

Using the correct hose clamp tool makes installation quicker and reduces the risk of damaging the screw head, clamp, hose or fitting. This category includes tools for tightening worm-drive hose clips, closing ear clamps and CV-boot bands, and installing Jubilee® Flexiband stainless steel banding.

These tools are designed for different fastening systems and are not universally interchangeable. Identify the clamp type and fastening method before selecting a driver or pincer.

Which Hose Clamp Tool Do You Need?

    7mm Flexible Hose Clip Driver

The Jubilee® Flexidriver has a flexible shaft that helps reach clip screws positioned behind pipes, hoses or other components. Its socket fits 7mm across-flat hexagonal screw heads.

It is suitable for compatible Jubilee® Original Range clips and other clamps fitted with the same 7mm hexagonal head. Compatibility must be confirmed separately for High Torque, T-bolt, Superclamp and specialist clamp designs.

    Rigid Jubilee® Clip Driver

The Jubilee® CDR95 clip driver is a rigid 95mm driver with a 7mm hexagonal socket and T-style handle. It is suited to accessible installations where a straight driver provides direct engagement with the clip screw.

Choose the flexible driver for obstructed positions and the rigid driver where the clamp screw can be reached directly. Neither tool is torque-limiting, so the installer must follow the specified tightening torque for the selected clip and application.

    O-Clip and CV-Boot Pincers

Ear clamps are closed by compressing their raised ear rather than turning a screw. The Jubilee® P1099 side-closing pincer is designed for Jubilee® O-clips and compatible Jubilee® constant-velocity boot clips.

Side-closing pincers are especially useful where direct end access to the clamp ear is restricted. The range also includes ear O-clip and CV-boot clamping pliers for compatible automotive, coolant, air and hydraulic hose clamps.

Before crimping, confirm that the pincer jaws match the clamp-ear design. A worm-drive clip driver cannot close an ear clamp, while ear-clamp pincers must not be used to tighten screw-operated clips.

    Jubilee® Flexiband Installation Tool

The Jubilee® Flexiband installation tool is a specialist operating tool for assembling the Jubilee® stainless steel band-and-buckle system. It is compatible with 9mm, 13mm, 16mm and 19mm Jubilee® Flexiband.

This system is commonly used for sign fixing and other industrial banding applications where continuous stainless steel band is cut to the required length. It should not be confused with screw-operated Jubilee® Multiband or conventional worm-drive hose clips.

Driver or Pincer: Understanding the Difference

    • Flexible 7mm driver: for compatible hex-headed clip screws in obstructed or difficult-to-reach positions.
    • Rigid 7mm driver: for direct access to compatible worm-drive clip screws.
    • Side-closing pincer: for crimping compatible O-clips and CV-boot clamp ears from the side.
    • Ear-clamp pliers: for closing compatible single-ear, double-ear and automotive boot clamps.
    • Flexiband tool: for tensioning and securing Jubilee® stainless steel Flexiband with the correct buckle.

Using a Hose Clip Driver Correctly

Position the driver socket fully over the hexagonal screw head before applying force. Tighten the clip evenly and follow the recommended torque for the exact clamp, hose and fitting. Stop if the housing twists, the band deforms or the screw begins to slip.

A dedicated 7mm socket driver generally provides better engagement than using a poorly fitting flat screwdriver. However, the tool does not determine the correct torque automatically and cannot compensate for an incorrectly sized or unsuitable clamp.

Installing Ear Clamps and CV-Boot Clips

Place the clamp squarely around the hose or boot and confirm its position before closing the ear. Align the pincer jaws correctly and compress the ear progressively until the clamp is securely fitted according to the product instructions.

Ear clamps normally undergo permanent deformation during installation and should not automatically be reused after removal. Browse our ear hose clamps and CV-boot clips and accessories.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Flexidriver fit every Jubilee® clamp?

No. It fits screws with a 7mm across-flat hexagonal head. Check the fastening specification of the exact clamp before use.

Does a hose clip driver control the tightening torque?

No. The Flexidriver and CDR95 are manual drivers, not calibrated torque tools. The installer remains responsible for applying the correct torque.

Can ordinary pliers be used on O-clips?

A dedicated ear-clamp pincer is recommended because its jaws are designed to close the clamp ear in a controlled manner. General-purpose pliers may deform the ear unevenly or damage the clamp.

Can the Flexiband tool install Multiband hose clamps?

No. Jubilee® Flexiband is a band-and-buckle system, while Multiband uses separate screw housings. Each system requires the appropriate installation method.

    Are CV-boot clamp tools universal?

No. CV-boot clamps use different fastening arrangements, including raised ears and fold-over or tensioned bands. Match the tool to the exact clamp design before installation.
