The official Wingspade range uses a 9.3mm-wide band and covers selected adjustment ranges from 9.5–12mm through to 50–70mm. Recommended torque varies according to clip size, so there is no single torque value for the complete range.

Boltza® Thumb-Screw Hose Clips

Butterfly-Handle Hose Clamps
Boltza® butterfly-wing clamps use a broad folding-style handle for convenient hand adjustment. The range includes versions with a galvanised metal handle and versions with a PVC-covered handle.
Although selected products use a 304 stainless steel band, the handle may use a different material or coating. Do not assume that every component is stainless steel solely from the band specification.
Material Options
Zinc-Plated Mild Steel
Zinc-plated mild steel provides an economical choice for garden, workshop, domestic and protected indoor applications. The zinc coating improves corrosion resistance, but these clips are not intended for prolonged saltwater or highly corrosive exposure.
304 Stainless Steel
304 stainless steel provides improved resistance to moisture and general outdoor conditions. It is suitable for many garden, automotive and industrial applications but should not automatically be described as 316 marine-grade stainless steel.
Check whether the stated material applies to the complete clamp or only its band before ordering for a corrosion-sensitive installation.
How to Select the Correct Size
Winged hose clips are selected using the outside diameter of the completed hose connection, not the hose bore.
- Fit the hose over its intended pipe, fitting or connector.
- Measure the hose outside diameter at the clamping position.
- Select a clip whose stated adjustment range includes that measurement.
- Avoid choosing a clip that will sit at the extreme end of its adjustment range.
- Tighten until the hose is securely retained without crushing or cutting it.
An oversized clip may reach the end of its adjustment before securing the hose. An undersized clip can damage the hose, band or screw mechanism.
Winged Clips Versus Standard Hose Clips
Both products use a worm-drive mechanism. The main difference is that a winged clip has an enlarged handle that can be turned directly by hand, while a conventional hose clip is normally adjusted using a screwdriver, socket or dedicated clip driver.
A standard screw-driven clip may be more appropriate where controlled installation torque or restricted access makes hand tightening unsuitable. A winged clip is generally preferable where fast removal and refitting are more important.
