Genuine VELCRO® Brand Self-Adhesive Hook and Loop Tape
VELCRO® Brand self-adhesive tape combines a reusable hook-and-loop closure with an adhesive backing. The adhesive secures the tape to a compatible surface, while the mating hook and loop components can be opened and refastened when access or repositioning is required.

Standard PS14 Self-Adhesive Hook and Loop Tape
For general-purpose indoor fastening, choose VELCRO® Brand PS14 self-adhesive hook and loop tape in black or white. Different widths and roll lengths are available for removable closures, display materials, storage, access panels and general organisation.
PS14 uses a pressure-sensitive adhesive intended for compatible indoor surfaces. Wider tape provides a larger bonding and engagement area, but suitability still depends on the surface, preparation and direction of the applied load.
VELCRO® Brand Heavy Duty Stick On Tape
For more demanding mounting and organisation work, choose VELCRO® Brand Heavy Duty Stick On Tape in 20 mm black, 50 mm black or 50 mm white.
Heavy Duty Stick On Tape has a water-resistant adhesive and is designed for suitable indoor and outdoor applications on compatible smooth surfaces. It can be cut to the required length for mounting, securing and organising, but should not be treated as a structural fixing or safety restraint.
Heavy Duty PS51 and PS52 Component Rolls

These products allow the hook or loop component to be selected separately. A hook-only or loop-only roll does not create a complete closure by itself, so order the compatible mating component unless one side is already installed.
PS18 Tape for PVC and Vinyl
VELCRO® Brand PS18 self-adhesive tape is intended for PVC, vinyl and other compatible materials containing plasticisers. It is available in black and white.
Use PS18 when the substrate specifically requires an adhesive suitable for plasticised materials. Confirm the exact surface and installation conditions before use, as not every type of plastic behaves in the same way.
Wide Self-Adhesive Tape
For applications requiring a broader fastening area, choose our 107 mm wide black self-adhesive hook and loop tape. The wide format can be cut into strips or shaped fastening sections for suitable panels, displays and custom projects.
A larger piece of tape increases the available contact area, but it cannot compensate for an unsuitable surface, weak coating or poor preparation.
Hook-and-Loop Pairs, Hook Only or Loop Only?
A complete fastening system normally requires two mating components:
- Hook tape: the firmer component containing small hooks.
- Loop tape: the softer component into which the hooks engage.
- Hook-and-loop pair: both compatible components supplied together.
Some products include a complete pair, while others supply hook only or loop only. Always check the product title, variation selection and pack contents. Do not assume that two rolls are included merely because both surfaces appear in a product photograph.
Choosing the Correct Tape
- Identify the material to which the adhesive will be applied.
- Choose PS14, PS18 or Heavy Duty tape according to the surface and environment.
- Check whether the product supplies a complete pair, hook only or loop only.
- Select the required colour, width and roll length.
- Consider whether the application is indoors, outdoors or exposed to moisture.
- Confirm that an adhesive fastening system is appropriate if failure could cause damage or injury.
Do not select the tape from width or appearance alone. Adhesive type and surface compatibility are more important than simply choosing the widest or strongest-looking product.
How to Apply Self-Adhesive Hook and Loop Tape
- Make sure the product is suitable for the intended surface and environment.
- Remove dust, grease, polish and loose material from the surface.
- Allow the cleaned surface to dry completely.
- Measure and cut the tape using suitable scissors.
- Remove the release liner without touching the exposed adhesive.
- Position the tape carefully and apply firm, even pressure across the full area.
- Allow the adhesive to develop its bond for the period stated in the product instructions before applying a load.
Avoid repeatedly lifting and repositioning the adhesive-backed tape during installation. When opening the finished closure, separate the hook-and-loop faces carefully instead of pulling the adhesive backing away from the surface.
